Experienced CNC 5-Axis Mill Programmer & Operator
Starfire is seeking a highly motivated person to join our manufacturing team to support particle accelerator production and component fabrication. The successful candidate will have experience with Haas UMC 5-axis universal mill (or equivalent), G Code programming and CAD/CAM software for planning and execution. Working with our manufacturing team, you will leverage your subject-matter experience in fabrication, machining and various QA/QC metrology for precision 3D part production on metals and ceramics.
We seek candidates familiar with SolidWorks, are comfortable with both pen/paper and electronic documentation and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple product lines. Job Summary:
You are the SME for the Haas CNC UMC tool. You interface directly with the CAD/CAM designers, product development engineers and R&D staff to fabricate critical components to support nGen®, Centurion® and other Starfire product lines. You are responsible for making components, verifying quality for form, fit and function, and are an advocate for design for manufacturing. You also assist with other tooling, machining and fabrication processes. You participate with the R&D and design teams where necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Be the SME for the Haas CNC UMC tool and perform all maintenance and updating.
- Teach the extended manufacturing team and designers on the limitations and ranges for the Haas tool.
- Perform component fabrication, assembly, QA/QC and form-fit-function testing.
- Assist systems and R&D engineers meeting milestones and deliverables.
- Communicate consistently and openly with engineers, technicians, and managers.
- Actively pursue effective collaboration with other team members.
